What is Safe Haven Pet Rescue?
Safe Haven Pet Rescue, Inc. is a new animal rescue organization based in Rochester, Minnesota. Its purpose is to rescue lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals and to care for them until new homes can be found. Since the end of June, 1998, Safe Haven Pet Rescue has rescued and adopted over 700 cats and dogs to new homes through our shelter program, as well as hundreds of pets through our referral program ! Safe Haven Pet Rescue is a "No - kill" shelter, euthanizing only if a pet is terminally ill, critically injured or dangerously aggressive as recommended by a veterinarian.
Safe Haven Pet Rescue was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in the State or Minnesota on June 15, 1998. (It is not affiliated with any of the other human societies in the area.) An application is also in progress with the IRS to obtain tax-exempt status as a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization and we hope to have a formal tax status determination letter in the near future.
Presently, our cats, kittens, dogs and puppies are being housed at several locations in the Rochester area, including foster homes and boarding facilities. If you are interested in adopting a pet, please call (507) 292-9122 for more information on viewing our animals.
